The memory of the one best parties and I can’t even remember who’s it was. I know it was one of the girls from my sixth form and I recall it was an 18th. There was a lot of those and of course a lot of booze which doesn’t help the memory. But what I do remember was the fact that all the girls loved this record and were dancing like loons. Some sort of clenched fist dance where you raised them above your head, a bit like Morrisey and his gladiois I guess. It just kept getting requested and requested until the DJ gave up and just began to play it every other record. He would just announce that “Here comes Kool & The Gang and their new single,” & then play “This Charming Man” again. And everybody kept dancing and everyone kept laughing. Good party.
