I had dreamed of going to Paris since childhood and in 2001 when I was still living in Seattle, I finally went. I flew an Air France connection out of New York overnight and was listening to the in-flight music when the pilot announced that we were just flying over Ireland. I slid up the window shade just as U2's 'Beautiful Day' was starting. The sun was just coming up and it was just so stunning. The song always reminds me those rays of sun shining in my eyes as I looked out over the Emerald Isle.. they're home country!
